Vision Tri Club is a group of individuals bound together by work ethic and personal performance. The overriding factor being the passion and dedication of the coaching staff to provide quality sessions through a progressive program. Each athlete develops to a performance level they are capable of achieving.
At Vision we believe triathlon is a sport for life, anyone can achieve and strive for challenges they never thought possible. When entering the Vision training environment you will find a group of friendly, focused people (16 -19 yo / U23 / Performing dedicated age group athletes).
The motto of the club is quality over quantity. With this the sessions are powerful in their structure to achieve maximum benefits from all attending.
Monday (6am-7am Track Run. UQ athletics track, St Lucia) (6pm-7pm Swim Squad. Yeronga Park Aquatic Centre, School Road, Yeronga)
Tuesday (5:30am-7am Cycle Intervals on Roads, meeting in front of UQ rowing sheds St Lucia)
Wednesday (endurance run planned for athletes on the monthly training plan sent out to all members at the beginning of each month)
Thursday (5:30am-7am Power 90, brick session on windtrainers, Milton State School Pool)
Friday (5:30am-7am Swim Squad. Yeronga Park Aquatic Centre, School Road, Yeronga)
Sat and or Sun depending on monthly structure. (6am-9:15am brick session starting from various venues within the Brisbane Metropolitan area. This is emailed monthly to club members along with training camp opportunities.
VISION manages a structured weekly program as above. Athletes are sent a timetable on the first of each month detailing week end training sessions. Depending on athlete goal and race schedule, the coaches conduct specific training blocks to attain the high level results that are set out. These are done around the main stream structure and focus on the specifics of performance.
NEW TO VISION- Before entering the Vision environment athletes will need to contact the club. This is to ensure all aspects of your equipment, history in reference to injury/ medical is up to date. Please make yourself aware of the Triathlon Australia insurance policy in reference to training within a club environment as well.
SCHEDULE OF TRAINING FEES - options range from casual ($10 per session, bulk concession $90 for 10 sessions, to monthly payable accounts due on the 1st of each month). Track running also incurs a track hire fee of $3 payable directly to the honesty box and entry into the pool venues incur the standard entry fee. Athletes are to check with facilities if requiring a shower only if there is a usage fee attached.
Head Coach Cath Rogers oversees the program and then fine tunes it with the expertise of added qualified professionals. Greg Thirkill co - coaches at all sessions to allow the squad to function on all levels from skill development, safety and heart rate zones.
